Happy Hope Day friends. Sharing some your words have power wisdom.

This post was originally written what seems like a lifetime ago. Life has ebbed and flowed in many directions since. I’m no longer in a band and yes I miss worshiping and making music with those folks. I’m in a new place on my Life on Purpose journey with so much growth. All that aside, sound checking yo’self is good and needed.

May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope. – Romans 15:13 AMPC
hope, words, grace, sound check, faith, love, pure grace, Mindi Huebner

Note to self: Sound Checks are good!

Huh? Yep – Sound check…
So my band played at a community gathering the other night…we did not run a sound check before and while our performance was “fine”, it was not our usual awesomeness!  So for future reference, always do a sound check.
When else should YOU sound check – how about every time you open your mouth?  If not, some things could come out that aren’t your usual awesomeness.  I am not saying it is easy!  I have eaten some less than stellar words before.
Dear God, Help me keep my mouth in check!
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love to talk will have to eat their own words. – Proverbs 18:21 (GW)
Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose. – Proverbs 18:21 (MSG)
Dear God, PLEASE help me to think before I speak!
A good person produces good deeds and words season after season. An evil person is a blight on the orchard.  Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously.
Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation. – Matthew 12:35-37 (MSG)

A wise person’s heart controls his speech, and what he says helps others learn.
Pleasant words are {like} honey from a honeycomb— sweet to the spirit and healthy for the body. – Proverbs 16:23-24 (GW)
Dear God, You are my abundance, remind me daily.
The upright (honorable, intrinsically good) man out of the good treasure [stored] in his heart produces what is upright (honorable and intrinsically good), and the evil man out of the evil storehouse brings forth that which is depraved (wicked and intrinsically evil); for out of the abundance (overflow) of the heart his mouth speaks. – Luke 6:45 (AMP)
How can I be sure that my heart is producing good? Fill it with good! Fill it with being a giver, fill it with being a lover, fill it with being merciful, fill it with being grateful. Fill it with God’s Word. Fill it with the company of other believers.  Good in – Good out, in the same way, garbage in – garbage out!
So what’s the 1,2,3?
1. Think before you speak
2. Think again – sound check
3. Good in – good out
