Simple steps to learn to eat mindfully!
Mindi here to help you learn what eating mindfully is all about and how it can help you keep your weight down and so much more! How we do one thing is how we do everything…
But first, why am I talking about eating mindfully anyway? Because Body, Mind, Soul Fitness!
In today’s world most of us eat for convenience rather than for nutrition. We eat for instant gratification rather than long-term health benefits. Can you imagine learning a new way of slow eating in which you actually get to experience the tastes and textures of your food rather than wolfing it down in a hurry or snacking on the go? Would you like to learn to slow down and eat mindfully? Would you like to see the food you eat as medicine that not only nourishes your whole system, but also tastes delicious? I can help♥
Beloved, I pray you to prosper concerning all things and to be in good health, just as your soul prospers. – 3 John 1:2 BTB
So what is mindful eating?
Mindful eating means taking the time to honor your food by choosing high quality, high nutrient, organic (if possible) food, preparing it with care and eating it slowly and mindfully (being attentive, aware, or careful) using your five senses to really enjoy it. It means allocating quiet time to prepare and enjoy eating your meal without rushing or multitasking at the same time. Mindful eating is a way of saying to yourself: “I respect my body enough to be mindful of what I put into it and of the way I eat.”
What are you nuts?
I know, I know, some of you are rolling your eyes at me. Your thinking, “I’m busy Mindi, I have a family, places to go, people to see. I do not have time to mindfully eat much less prepare my food.” I understand and I say to you – You are the thermostat, you set the temperature. I’m asking you to think about what its costing you to not slow down and be present.
Think of this type of eating as a meditation. It means choosing to be present with your food and the way you eat it. And it means so much more friend.
How we do one thing is how we do everything – What if, what if we were more present in our conversations, in our relationships, in everything? And it all began because we decided to eat mindfully?
So teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom. – Psalm 90:12 AMPC
