Blog closed temporarily while we embrace the last days of summer – Pure Grace is on vacation, together!
I had every intention of writing a new blog post today, but not this post. I read a scripture that really spoke to me this morning as I was praying. I had a phone chat with a friend and felt inspired to share what God was saying to me over her situation. Bonus the scripture on my heart was a perfect tie in. And then the day flew by before I could put pen to paper. And then it started raining and got super gloomy, which is just a side note because it’s still summer dangit.
And then I thought, what I have to share will wait. Instead I want to encourage you to embrace the lasts.
It might be the last day of summer break or the last time you will celebrate a first day of school or the last day of work before a getaway or the last time you _________________ (fill in the blank).
The amazing thing about lasts – they are always followed by firsts. The crazy thing about lasts – sometimes we don’t even realize they are happening. Wut? Be present, enjoy the right now. Once today is gone, it’s gone. It’s the last. So now what? How will you be present and embrace today? What will it look like to lay busy and worry aside, and be fully present in the right now? Who will you share this gift with? What will happen if you do this today and then again tomorrow? Crazy transformation, that’s what. Your life will be transformed.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands. – Isaiah 43:19 MSG
When we intentionally stay present we can see God in our everyday. When we fast forward in our heads and hearts we miss Him and the new thing He is doing right now.
Irina and I, along with our men folk are going on a weekend getaway. There will be fishing and camp fires and running and sharing meals together and laughter and treats, I hope there are treats, and coffee and good conversation. God will be working and moving and doing and we will see it and feel it because we know, when we purposefully choose to be present we are living Life on Purpose.
Here is your blog closed it’s still summer dangit 1,2,3 and 4:
1. Be present
2. Embrace the last
3. God is in the here and now
4. Live Life on Purpose
