Just Pray, re-post from 2013 – still all the feels, with a few minor edits.
I had a conversation the other day that went something like this…
“You should have told us you were having surgery, we would have prayed for you”
“Mindi, that’s your answer for everything isn’t it?”
“Um yes, yes it is!”
At least, it’s what I strive for.  Hope for.
ALSO [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up). – Luke 18:1 AMPC
♫ We go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong♫
We, as in me and prayer, prayer and me.
I pray for and about pretty much everything.
Dear God, thank you for coffee – this would be a daily prayer.
Dear God, help me let go of my perfectionist tendencies – also daily – ugh.
Dear God, thank you for a car that runs and a roof over our heads.
Dear God, protect ______________ as they travel.
Dear God, hold the pilot and this plane in the palm of your hand.
Dear God, protect me on my run.
Dear God, thank you for music.
Dear God, give me the words…
Dear God, you are so awesome. Thank you for the shinning sun.
Me and prayer – like p.b. and j. or better yet like chocolate and peanut butter.
It’s okay if you think my prayers are silly or not necessary or ridiculous or that I don’t pray for the right stuff.
I pray for courage.  I pray for peace.  I pray for work.  I pray for wisdom.  I pray God heals my heart when I want to punch someone in the face.  I pray for your family, your marriage. I pray for the driver who cuts me off and who rides my rear end. I pray not to be that inpatient driver. I pray for grace and patience for the parent in the store who is at the end of their rope.  I pray grace and mercy over my children and ask for their hearts to extend it to others.  I pray to glorify God in all I do.  I pray for forgiveness when I blow it.  I pray for the people who hurt others for sport. I pray God heals broken hearts, spirits and minds. I pray.
Heck you name it, I’ve probably prayed about, over or through it.
Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly]; – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 AMPC

Pray all the time; – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 MSG
Never stop praying. – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 GW
Pray without ceasing. – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
I think I’ve got it. The message is clear, pray.
How about you?
Maybe prayer is totally new to you.  Maybe you pray, but only at meals.  Maybe you only pray at church.  Maybe the only time you pray is when you can’t think of anything else to do, as a very last resort. Okay. It’s all good, you are being built as a dwelling place for God.
I LOVE the Lord, because He has heard [and now hears] my voice and my supplications. – Psalm 116:1 AMPC
I pray you trust God to meet you where you are.  In the laundry room, in the car, in line at the post office.  Lift up your prayers to the one who has crazy love for you.  Love like you can’t imagine.  He’s waiting, waiting for you to go to Him first not last.
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. – Philippians 4:6 AMPC
And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:7 AMPC
And that my friends is why I am a prayer warrior.
Peace, contentment, fearlessness.
