Guarding my heart from bitterness setting in, from anger making a home.
Guarding my heart from selfishness and pride.

Each day brings us the opportunity to transform our thoughts, words and actions.
Today as I read this scripture,
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. – Proverbs 4:23 NIV
it was a gentle reminder, for me and probably for you. Sometimes the not good stuff can take root, without us even being aware. One hurt after another, one disappointment or broken promise more and all of the sudden our hearts are bitter, angry, full of not good stuff.

If this is you now, FEAR NOT. God never leaves us, even when we forget to guard our hearts.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. – Proverbs 4:23 NIV

Everything you do flows from it. When we let our guard down the stuff that flows is way less than our best.
FEAR NOT – Trust.Seek.Pray.Decide.Act

My go to confession prayer, you know when I’m doing/giving less than my best – Search me God and know my heart. Test me and know my anxious thoughts, see if there is ANY offensive way in me and lead me to the life ever lasting. Empty me of me so I can be filled with you. Amen.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. – Proverbs 4:23 NIV

Life on Purpose is filled with lots of good stuff and some not so good stuff, let us be those who guard our hearts and not invite the not so good stuff to feel at home. To be clear, anger is a natural emotion, so is bitterness and doubt and selfishness – hear me when I say these feelings are real, our job is to own them and move forward to our best lives.

Let us be people who honor and serve God with everything we think, say and do – with all of our heart.
