I’m sorry it’s been over a month since my last blog post. I haven’t been asleep at the wheel. Besides channeling my inner supermodel - see pic,
I’ve been working with a fantastic company With Grace and Gold. And praying without ceasing.
You may or may not have noticed some changes to this site, to our Facebook page and our other social media outlets.
While there are more changes to come, Kelly and Andra are currently helping articulate vision, mission, purpose and so much more here at Back Row Faith.
This place, this community is an extension of my heart. I continually pray God uses it for healing, wisdom, joy and the like. I continually pray God uses me, gives me the words to bless, to remind, to poke when needed and to love.
Simply put, Back Row Faith is my passion.
I’m struggling a bit.
Waffling about making stories more personal, giving more intimate details.
All the experts say share more, be more transparent…gah.
This gets a little murky for me. Not because I’m afraid to share. Not because I don’t want to be transparent, if you know me personally I’m pretty much a what you see is what you get kinda girl.
I’m more afraid if I say exactly who is who or what is what, things could go sideways speedy quick.
People could unintentionally get their feelings hurt – lots of times I omit names to protect the innocent and the not so innocent.
Even more important is being able to put yourself in the situation. If I give all my dirt, all my specifics and leave no blanks for you, will it resonate like I pray it will? It’s like when you sell your house; people need to be able to see themselves living there. If you have all your crap everywhere it makes it tough for most to see past you.
So here is your chance to be heard – please comment and let me know what you think.
The other thing that’s putting me in a pickle is the slippery slope from sharing to bragging – ugh. You know what I mean?
We all get the Christmas letter makes us feel, at least momentarily, inadequate. I don’t want to be that Mom, that Wife, that Friend.
And so more waffling.
All this waffling is making me hungry…
Now that’s out of the way - back to the subject of change.
In the name of growth and let’s just be real, smart business, more change is on the horizon.
I’ll be introducing “Products with Purpose”.
About two years ago I got a goat for Christmas. Actually a goat was purchased in my name for a family who needed a goat. I loved, loved, loved this gift. Seriously.
I’m so blessed; I have what I need so instead of another whatchamacallit I got the perfect gift.
The product won’t always be goats, but you get the idea.
Plus it is another chance for your voice to be heard. That is what community is all about - You can let me know if there is product near and dear to you, maybe you just love it; maybe you make it and a portion of the proceeds benefit charity XYZ. How cool would it be if one of our readers was spotlighted – super cool!
And last for now, but not least – “Worth the Read”.
I’m an avid reader and when a book changes me, speaks to me, makes me think, I want to share it - so I am.
You’ll see Ragamuffin Gospel spotlighted now. If you’ve read it PLEASE leave a comment, if you haven’t I highly recommend it.
Got a book that’s your fave? Let me know…
Whew lotta change, lotta work, lotta LOVE!
Can’t forget the 1,2,3
#1 More change - maybe more me stuff
#2 More of you - comments, recommendations, suggestions...
#3 We are a TEAM – together everyone achieves more
