That's right, I'm M.A.D. I'm Making A Difference. Are you? Don't worry you don't have to solve global warming - although if you can, sweet. Start with your little corner of the world. Start in your house for that matter. Think small, really small if you need too. Make a difference in your house by turning off the light when you leave a room (small stuff that really makes a big difference). Say nothing when you really want to say something not so nice. Leave everything (and everyone) a little nicer than you found it/them. Next time you are out & about go out of your way to: Smile at everyone or pick up some litter or hold open the door or let someone skip ahead in the check out line. Maybe you want to get a little crazy & pay for the person behind you in the drive thru or in the toll booth line. How would that make you feel if someone did that for you? I know how you will feel if you do it for someone else. GREAT! When I have paid other people's tolls they catch up with me to smile & wave & say thanks. I really don't do it just for them, I mostly do it as a thank you for all the blessings I have. People make a difference in my life everyday. Some of them I know, like my very close friend Amy. She helps keep me balanced. Believe it or not I can be a hot-head on occasion♥ She helps me see the other side. I love her for that. Both my daughters & my baby sister make me laugh and I mean laugh so hard I cry & my stomach hurts. They are a rare gift and they make a difference. After the sudden passing of my father-in-law recently, so many people are making a difference with kind words, food, hugs & prayers. What about the folks I don't know...the random people who smile at me, compliment me, let me go first - I know your are getting the picture. I want you to be M.A.D. with me...who or what will be your first mission? I couldn't sign off with out leaving you some lyrics to marinate on.....
Nickelback - If today was your last day(excerpts)
My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day's a gift and not a given right
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride
If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last
Leave old pictures in the past?
Donate every dime you had, if today was your last day?
What if, what if, if today was your last day?
Against the grain should be a way of life
What's worth the price is always worth the fight
Every second counts 'cause there's no second try
So live like you're never living twice
Don't take the free ride in your own life
And would you call those friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories?
Would you forgive your enemies?
And would you find that one you're dreaming of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you'd finally fall in love if today was your last day?
If today was your last day
Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart?
You know it's never too late to shoot for the stars
Regardless of who you are
So do whatever it takes
'Cause you can't rewind a moment in this life
Let nothing stand in your way
'Cause the hands of time are never on your side
M.A.D. today, tomorrow & forever!
