Giving up turns into getting more.
Last night as I was getting ready for bed, I was struck with overwhelming gratitude for such an amazing day.
Most of you don't know I gave up procrastination for Lent.
While I'm partial to doing better or being more as my Lenten sacrifice, this time giving up was the perfect choice.
I quickly realized the giving up turns into getting more.
I know you're shocked, yep, sometimes I put things off. Things like laundry or cleaning the bathroom or balancing the checkbook or getting all the tax stuff in order or...
But no more. I won't think, ooh I have plenty of time to do _____. I'll just do it, I'll eat the frog. You know, get the must be done stuff done, so I can have the must be fun stuff fun.
And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him. - Colossians 3:17AMP
Yesterday was amazing.
Nothing extraordinary happened except I kept my promise, I didn't procrastinate.
I made the calls, I made the bed, I made cookies and homemade waffles with my best guy, I made lots of time for God - first and last and in between, I made the decisions that needed to be made.
I did some laundry, I swept the floor. I played tickle and watched Mater, again, with my best guy. I trained a new success partner, I shared a meal.
I kinda worked out...its tough when your best guy thinks it funny to jump on your back while you're doing push-ups. I spoke with one of my daughters. I had a lovely chat with my hubby♥
It was an amazingly ordinary day.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. - Proverbs 3:6
Here's to amazingly ordinary days...may they be plentiful.
Are you giving up or giving more this Lent?
Will you continue with it after the 40 days?
I'll be praying you through.
Finally your amazingly ordinary 1,2,3:
1. Eat the frog
2. Relish the ordinary
3. Repeat daily
