Okay not like garden planting and okay not without clothing naked but almost.
Last night I got to hang out with two amazing people, bare my soul and create a beautiful gift for God.
This morning I woke up to see this status on Facebook:
I've read quite a few status' over the past weeks about being excited over receiving seed catalogs and looking forward to spring and planting season. I admit it; I am longing for spring and sunshine and warmer weather. I challenge all of you today to plant a seed….a seed of peace, a seed of hope, a seed of love, a seed of kindness. Give a hug, a smile, a compliment, etc. Nurture that seed you plant today with love and prayer. It is the middle of winter and I will plant today!! I will also Think Spring! – Mona♥
In case you don’t know I’m in a band and a while back I wrote a song, well technically just the lyrics. So last night I got together with two of the guys. We started putting music to my words.
Here’s the naked part – the song I wrote is a prayer, an actual ongoing conversation with God. It aint all pretty. It is soul bearing, showing all my cards. It is nakedness.
On top of all that nakedness, as if once you are naked you could get more naked, I was also the only singer. All the wrong notes were on me. Ugh, talk about pressure. No pressure from the boys only self- imposed pressure that soon evaporated because of the love surrounding me. Because of the seeds being planted.
So many seeds being planted and cultivated last night it was a seed frenzy!
Before we started to bang out notes and chords, Brent & Lukas – two of my awesome band mates – were working on this pedal machine thing. Yes that is the technical term, not.
Any way while they were strumming and turning dials and reading instructions, I was praying.
I was thanking God for the entire band and the ministry we have. For our church family. For everyone who has ever passed through our doors. I kept looking at the boys thinking my heart would burst. How blessed I was to have them in my life. It was an amazing opportunity to ask God to cover them, to give them continued purpose and calling, to wash them in wisdom. It was an amazing opportunity to plant.
And I’m a planter – I could have written that Facebook status myself, word for word.
So when I awoke this crisp winter morning to those perfectly articulate words I was compelled to share.
Plant whenever and wherever you are able. Seek God to give you the seeds. Trust Him to cultivate them and pray.
I bet you can guess your naked aint so bad 1,2,3
#1 Plant seeds in others
#2 Allow others to plant in you
#3 Never stop doing all you do in love – sometimes this makes you naked
Just wanted to remind you of my theme verse for the year:
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.
